Shola directs the Song School and is a program facilitator at the Golden Drum, a cultural community center located in Brooklyn. Sacred Music with Radharani

Join us for a candlelit evening of sacred song and chant guided by devotional musician Radharani. This gathering is offered as a ceremonial circle — a space to enter a living process together through voice, listening, and presence. The evening weaves heart-opening songs, mantra chants, silence, and reflection into a gentle evening carried by the shared field of voice and intention. Radharani is a devotional artist whose music has been shared widely as a companion for meditation, prayer, and inner listening. Drawing on many years of leading chant and ceremony, she offers a container that is intimate, grounded, and quietly transformative.

About the Artist

Radharani is a mystic vocalist whose work centers on sacred song as ceremony. ​ Her clear, luminous voice weaves ancient languages, devotional chant, and intuitive vocal transmission into immersive spaces of stillness, prayer, and remembrance. ​ Her path as an artist was shaped by years of pilgrimage through India, Nepal, and Tibet, where she immersed herself in the study of mysticism, sacred sound, and contemplative traditions. ​ Rooted in both Eastern and Western mystical lineages, she has served as a musician and ceremonial guide for diverse spiritual communities, carrying a universal thread of devotion and reverence for the unseen. ​ Her recordings have reached hundreds of thousands of listeners worldwide, with releases that have become trusted companions for meditation, breathwork, and quiet reflection. ​ Based in the Hudson Valley of New York, Radharani performs and teaches internationally, offering gentle yet transformative spaces of sound, silence, and authentic connection.

Catskill Kirtan Collective

Kirtan is a devotional singing practice that originated in India and is now practiced around the world. It involves chanting or singing mantras, sacred phrases, or bhajans in a call-and-response style.

Matt and Hillary Canale will facilitate kirtan monthly at Juniper with friends. Kirtan is a beautiful way to learn how to sing as a practice to offer our hearts and love to something much greater than ourselves.

Optional Community Meal:

Matt and Hillary would love to share a meal with you before the event! Come at 6:30 to share in a warm, nourishing home-cooked meal.

Matthew Canale has traveled around the world and studied the sacred traditions of humanity. He is also a founding member of Dream Seed, a sound healing ensemble that travels internationally sharing the gift of sacred music. He has studied and practiced kirtan and mantra for over a decade. Matthew is also a gifted artist, painter, designer, musician, drum maker and song-writer having released his first album entitled "Celebrate" in 2024. Hillary Love Riley is devoted to the study of the sacred and its medicinal ways. She is trained in the tradition of Ayurvedic healing and pancha karma. As a song carrier she is drawn to kirtan and mantra and healing music from around the world. Hillary is also a gifted singer, guitarist, song carrier, song writer, painter and beader. She loves to share her gifts to inspire and bring healing to others.

Heart of the Earth Drum Making Ceremony

The drum is a sacred instrument that invokes the heart and speaks a universal language. It invites us to travel more deeply into our hearts and to the universal beat that connects all life. The rhythmic heartbeat of the drum is at the center of ceremonies held by people all over the world. The shamanic drum is used to communicate with the Spirit and to connect our hearts with the heartbeat of the Earth. It is a powerful medicine that heals the body, heart, mind, and spirit.

We will be making one-sided hand drums, using wooden frames made of maple and elk, deer or buffalo hide, and sinew. There is an option to dye your drum hide with Indigo plant dye.

We will provide a delicious vegetarian soup and fresh bread for lunch. We encourage participants to bring vegetarian snacks to share throughout the day.

Briz has been one of the most consistent artists on the East Coast music scene for the past 30 years, performing at listening venues, theaters, festivals, house concerts, coffeehouses, clubs, cafes, schools, libraries, and more with his original and classic rock cover performances.

For the last 15 years, Briz has been performing his Neil Young tribute show, “Shakey” at venues around the country. Songs include Cowgirl in the Sand, The Loner, Needle and the Damage Done, Ohio, Heart of Gold, and many more.

A sound bath is a multi-sensory guided meditation experience.

Together, we will explore how and why sound and music can be powerful for healing and meditation. Our session will include a sound bath as well as an orientation to the vast world of sound healing and meditation. Questions and comments are welcome and encouraged.

Singing bowls, gongs, flutes, crystal instruments, drums, guitars, handpans, and a range of other tools are used throughout the journey. Vibrations and overtones produced by these powerful instruments can be felt throughout the body. Sound baths hold space for deep relaxation, emotional release, and setting intentions for the future.

Music-making develops creativity, imagination, focus and coordination. Learning an instrument and practicing music enhances these capacities. Shared music-making and dance can promote meaningful relationships and connections within and across social groups, leading to an improved quality of life, shared values and sense of belonging.

Facilitator Bio:

Adrian DiMatteo (B.M. Eastman School of Music, 2012) is the founder of the Sonic Institute. He is an international performing and recording artist, author (Elements of Sound: A Full-Spectrum Exploration of Sound and Consciousness), music educator, app creator (Chord Atlas), and sound meditation facilitator with over 20 years’ experience in the music world. Adrian has toured and traveled extensively—exploring sound, language, musical culture and how they affect individual and collective wellbeing. Hundreds of students have graduated from Sound Facilitator Training programs and weekend retreats that Adrian regularly facilitates nationwide. To date, he has offered musical experiences to thousands of people in hospitals, hospices, elder care facilities, prisons and children’s centers.

What is Cacao?

Cacao, the main ingredient in chocolate, is a superfood that has nourished humanity for thousands of years. Originally revered throughout the Americas with roots in the Amazonian basin, Cacao has spread worldwide due to its powerful physical, mental, emotional and spiritual benefits. Together we will share a warm cup of cacao, sing and dance in celebration of the grand opening of Juniper.

If you are planning to attend the cacao ceremony, we kindly ask that you arrive before 7pm and stay until we close (between approximately 9:30-10pm).

OUR MISSION

The Coalition Of Forward Facing Ellenville (C.O.F.F.E.) is a community based non-profit organization that works with volunteers to uplift the Ellenville community and support social service partnerships, cultural arts programming, mentorships in conjunction with the Ellenville Central School, and producing real-life solutions for legacy challenges of the area.

COFFE's key goal is to facilitate the integration of incoming residents in Ellenville and surrounding areas with the existing community so it can prosper from a new wave of energy whilst still maintaining its unique character.

Join our monthly membership meeting to hear guest speakers share about current COFFE initiatives, and Ellenville events and projects. A great way to network with other artists, business owners and thought leaders. Introduce your own project to our wide range of members and volunteers.
