Facilitator Bio:
Born and raised in Germany, Hannah Apollonia grew up immersed in free and expressive movement through her family, participating from a young age in Five Rhythms, ecstatic dance, drum circles, and dancing around the camp fires. Dance was always experienced as a nurturing, liberating language of the body, a sentiment that was passed on from her mother.
Through her travels around the world, Hannah developed a deep love for observing and learning traditional and cultural dances, sensing their shared roots across continents.
In recent years, under the guidance of her teacher Manuel Rufino, she has dedicated herself to the study of sacred and ceremonial dance, including traditional Indian temple dances, while also exploring African, Central and North American ancestral movement traditions.
For Hannah, dance is a form of prayer and communication and her ongoing path is to uncover the common thread that weaves all sacred dances together.
