Sound & Color: An evening of art, healing & meditation

In conjunction with Upstate Art Weekend we will be offering a visual and sonic experience. Come and enjoy the art of local community members, then we will enter a guided meditation to assimilate the themes of the art through a sound bath.

A sound bath is a multi-sensory guided meditation experience.

Together, we will explore how and why sound and music can be powerful for healing and meditation. Our session will include a sound bath as well as an orientation to the vast world of sound healing and meditation. Questions and comments are welcome and encouraged.

Singing bowls, gongs, flutes, crystal instruments, drums, guitars, handpans, and a range of other tools are used throughout the journey. Vibrations and overtones produced by these powerful instruments can be felt throughout the body. Sound baths hold space for deep relaxation, emotional release, and setting intentions for the future.

About Sonic Institute

The Sonic Institute offers experiential workshops, training programs, music lessons, healing sessions and events designed to help people connect with sound and music as a tool for meditation and healing.

Our programs bridge ancient spirituality and modern science to reveal the impact of sound vibration on health and consciousness. Through online & in-person lessons, sound baths, presentations and interactive workshops, participants gain skills and knowledge needed to facilitate guided meditation and sound healing experiences.

Adrian DiMatteo (B.M. Eastman School of Music, 2012) is the founder of the Sonic Institute. He is an international performing and recording artist, author (Elements of Sound: A Full-Spectrum Exploration of Sound and Consciousness), music educator, app creator (Chord Atlas), and sound meditation facilitator with over 20 years’ experience in the music world. Adrian has toured and traveled extensively—exploring sound, language, musical culture and how they affect individual and collective wellbeing. Hundreds of students have graduated from Sound Facilitator Training programs and weekend retreats that Adrian regularly facilitates nationwide. To date, he has offered musical experiences to thousands of people in hospitals, hospices, elder care facilities, prisons and children’s centers.

Cassie Luzenski is a multi-disciplinary artist, creating experiences through her training as a designer (B.A, in Creative Direction, Design), Sound Meditation Facilitator, Yoga teacher and Shamanic Reiki practitioner. With a deep passion for holistic well-being, spiritual studies and designing intentional spaces, Cassie has spent the past three years immersing herself in a variety of spiritual, cultural, and traditional practices with many elders and wisdom-keepers around the world. She is currently in a 500 hour Yoga Teacher Training program, and her studies at the Sonic Institute have further enhanced her understanding in the technology of sound and healing. She is working to merge the world of art, music and healing.
